What does CueBeat cost?

CueBeat is free to download and the Starter Pack is included. You can unlock more theme packs with in-app purchases.

Does every player need the app?

Yes. Everyone plays on their own phone or tablet and joins with a room code or QR code. iPhone, iPad and Android can play in the same room.

Do we need Spotify or Apple Music?

No. Songs play as short previews right in the app, so nobody needs their own music subscription.

Can I play alone?

Yes. Play against AI bots to practice, or let the bots fill the room when you're only a few.

Is CueBeat suitable for kids?

Family Party is made for the whole family. On the App Store, CueBeat is rated 17+ because the app also includes the Adults Only pack with crude humor and mature themes.

Privacy Policy

1. Data Controller

CueBeat is operated by Markus Wallgren ("we", "us"). Privacy contact: The CueBeat Team.

2. Data We Collect

Anonymous service identifier: a Firebase user ID used to secure access to a game room.
Gameplay data: room ID and game code, chosen display name, emoji or voluntarily selected avatar image, song choices, votes, themes, round outcomes, scores, and timestamps.
Technical service data: app version, platform, supported features, and data our service providers need to protect and operate the service, such as IP address and user agent.
Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. CueBeat receives available purchase-entitlement status, but not card details or other payment information.

3. Purpose and Legal Basis (GDPR)

Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b)): provide multiplayer functionality, synchronize rounds, and show results.
Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)): improve stability, detect abuse, and protect the service.
Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)): accounting, tax, and other legal requirements.
Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) where required for optional analytics or marketing features.

Apple services for music metadata/preview playback and in-app purchases.
Firebase Authentication, Realtime Database, and Cloud Functions for anonymous access and real-time game synchronization.

Gameplay and session data is retained as long as needed to provide functionality, security, and troubleshooting.
We delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed, subject to data we must retain by law or to handle security incidents.

You are responsible for accurate information and activity from your device. Where required by law, parental/guardian consent must be obtained.

4. Purchases and Digital Products

In-app purchases are processed by Apple/Google. Purchases are subject to store terms. Digital themes/packs are licensed content, not ownership rights.

5. Code of Conduct

No harassment, threats, hate content, or illegal conduct.
No attempts to manipulate outcomes, disrupt services, or bypass security.
Respect other players and host moderation decisions.

6. Intellectual Property

CueBeat code, design, branding, text, and game mechanics are owned by the rights holder. Unauthorized copying, reverse engineering, or redistribution is prohibited to the extent permitted by law.

7. Music and Third-Party Content

Music metadata and previews are delivered through third-party platforms (e.g. Apple Music). Music rights remain with respective rights holders.

8. Availability and Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of uninterrupted availability. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost data, or lost profits.

9. Limitation of Liability

Where lawful, our total liability is limited to amounts you paid in-app during the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach, abuse, or security reasons. Certain clauses survive termination (e.g. IP, disclaimers, liability limits).

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Swedish law, except where mandatory consumer rules in your country require otherwise.

1. Music Rights

CueBeat does not store full songs. The app uses metadata and preview clips from third-party providers (for example Apple Music API).

All rights in music, artwork, artist names, and related assets remain with their respective rights holders.

2. License Information

License and attribution details for third-party content should be made available in app credits/about pages and on this website.

3. Prohibited Use

You may not extract, republish, sell, or distribute music previews or metadata in violation of rights-holder terms.

4. DMCA/Copyright Notice

If you believe content in CueBeat infringes copyright, send a notice to The CueBeat Team including:

Identification of the copyrighted work.
Identification of the allegedly infringing material.
Contact information for the claimant.
A good-faith statement and authority to act.

5. User-Generated Content

CueBeat currently does not support uploading user audio files. If that changes, a dedicated policy and notice process will be published.
